 To reduce congestion and pollution levels at the toll plaza, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will be compulsorily 'fastag' on vehicles going on National Highway from December 1. At present, a total of 400 toll plazas across the country are charged by Fastag. But now the fastag will be mandatory at all other toll plazas, so that there will not be long lines of vehicles.


Using Fastag will provide many benefits to people, including time and fuel savings. This fastag can be recharged via credit card, debit card Internet banking or mobile banking. Many banks are also offering special offers to customers on it. Drivers are also being offered 2.5 percent cashback on National Highway for the financial year 2019-20. Other banks are offering Accidental insurance up to Rs 1 lakh on Fastag. This insurance will be available to the driver.

If a vehicle passes through the toll plaza after fasting, then a message alert will be issued as soon as the toll is filled on the registered mobile number of the users. Users can also check their statement on the Fastag Login-in Portal.

How to get a Fastag ?

You can get a Fastag from a dealer while buying a new car. For older vehicles, it can be purchased from the National Highway's Point of Sale. In addition, Fastag can be purchased from private sector banks. Their typing comes from the National Highway Authority of India.
